Method
Prep Aromatics: Add the finely chopped red onion, minced garlic, diced tomato (if using), chopped jalapeño (if using), and fresh cilantro to the bowl.
Add Lime: Squeeze the juice of one lime over the mixture. Let it meld while you finish preparing the rest, about 10 minutes for perfection.
Prep Avocados: Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a large bowl. Mash the avocados with a fork to your desired consistency (chunky or smooth).
Combine: Add the mashed avocados to the veggies and mix everything together until well combined.
Season: Add salt and pepper to taste. Optionally, add a dash of cumin or chili powder for extra flavor.
Serving: Serve alongside your favourite dishes and enjoy!
Refrigerate: Store guacamole in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface to minimize browning. Refrigerate for up to 2 days.
Freeze: Freezing is not recommended as the texture and color of guacamole change after thawing.
